Sport Marketing Nostalgia
Ensuring a positive fan experience is much more than providing on-field games, photo opportunities and a family environment, at a visceral level, it’s striking a chord of nostalgia that will make the moment monumentally unforgettable.
If you build it, they will come…
This summer (August 13, 2020) the site of the iconic movie “Field of Dreams,” located in Dyersville, Iowa, will host the first MLB game at that location, featuring the teams that were depicted in the movie: the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox. This is where Hollywood meets real life and memories are made. The field, surrounded by corn, is currently being built and will seat 8,000 fans that will be part of this historic event.
For those unable to grab a ticket to this exclusive game, the local area is hosting supplementary events surrounding the game. From a Fan Fest and a viewing party to the public viewing of the iconic movie and area pick-up baseball games to meet and greet opportunities, the week is sure to not only have a positive impact on the Iowa community, but it will set an indelible mark on baseball and movie fans everywhere.
Tapping into emotions
As we live in an experience-economy, the MLB understands the power of emotions. In recent years, MLB teams have played America’s Pastime at The Little League site in Williamsburg, PA as well as Fort Bragg.
